The list of waiting periods and bans has been updated and the new rules come into force 1 July 2020. In addition to the addition of some new preparations, there are also some other changes.

Update of the Closed Season and Prohibited List

Clarification of B) PROVISION ON DAY OF COMPETITION; ?The day of competition starts at midnight (00:00) and ends when the horse has finished its last start of the day? Other changes to the list of substances concern updates of new and outgoing medicines and editorial changes and clarifications.

Withdrawal of the withdrawal period for glucosamine as a feed supplement

Glucosamine for human use is classified as a medicinal product and has therefore had a 96-hour withdrawal period for competition in the withdrawal list. The Medical Products Agency has now clarified that if it is present in feed supplements for horses, it is not considered a medicinal product for animals. Therefore, the withdrawal period for glucosamine is removed if it is given as a feed supplement.
