For the first time, a drug treatment is presented that seems to be able to slow the progression of the disease in osteoarthritis. In a clinical study from Sweden's Agricultural University and the University of Gothenburg, the horses that received the treatment completely got rid of their lameness and the breakdown of the joints stopped. There is also the potential for the drug to be developed for people with osteoarthritis.
